GIG: The DC3 with A DRUMMER??!!
The DC3 plus a DRUMMER with special guests, to be announced.
August 4th at the Northcote Social Club, Melbourne.
Yes, in the great tradition of politicians, reality TV, romance, and, well, life in general, ‘The DC3’ is a lie. Because there’s now 4 of them. Flushed with the heady excitement of internal contradiction, The DC3 are pleased to announce whizzbang drummer Jeremy Hopkins was such fun to play with during their brief ROOT! reunion tour in February, that he will be joining the band onstage for a full show at the Northcote Social Club on Saturday August 4.
That’s right. The DC3 plus a drummer. It’s like Andrew Bolt moving to Nimbin. Delta Goodrem embracing understatement. A television broadcasting at any given moment something other than corpulent gastronomes stuffing their faces whilst pronouncing pantomime platitudes at some blubbing ingénue over the turgid droning of a synth too overblown for even the Eurovision Song Contest and… er, you know what I mean.
Rumour has it that Jeremy has been recording tracks with the DC3 for their forthcoming album. And you’ll get the chance to hear some of them (along with some of the ‘songs that won’t be on the DC3 album’) live, in full crash bang wallop glory, a Ballardian horror show of loops, beats, flying sticks and the reliably scowling malevolence of those other 3 blokes.
What happens when matter and anti-matter collide? The DC3 PLUS A DRUMMER!! Live at the NSC. Don’t miss it!
